Not many people have what it takes to fill this “Want Ad” position, but Edna can check all the boxes… and then some.
Following high school, Edna learned about job opportunities at Curative Commercial Services. Fast forward 43 years, and Edna has become one of the most trusted and dependable employees in the Assembly division.
It means a lot to Edna’s mother, Letitia, that Edna has had the security of a job where she is valued and appreciated.
“She is very excited about her job,” explains Letitia. “Edna likes to be active and have somewhere to go each day. She likes going to the movies, to get outdoors, and she loves her job at Curative.”
Her supervisor, Travis, appreciates that Edna is very dependable. “There are usually not too many jobs she cannot work on, so she is very versatile in the jobs and types of work she can do,” explains Travis. “She is one of our ‘go-to’ workers. If we have important jobs and jobs that have strict deadlines, she is one of the workers that we call upon to assist us in accomplishing those tasks.”
Letitia appreciates that Curative has connected Edna with a reliable transportation service. “It is even nice that she has access to van transport that can take her to and from work,” adds Letitia. “I used to take her to work all the time, now Edna puts in a reservation with the service and she has a dependable way to get back and forth.”
“Edna has been here so long, it is great to see that even though she has pretty complicated disabilities, it does not hinder her job performance while at work. She has grown to adapt to her challenges and become a very successful employee,” adds Travis. “She interacts with all her coworkers and supervisors. Edna really is loved by everyone here at Curative.”
